Classes and class units are real secondary school classes and class units, also each class unit belongs to an existing class e.g. for JSS ONE B, the class is JSS ONE while the class unit is B. Class and class unit are highly dependent in secondary school portal such as students and teachers must belong to an existing class unit and also school results are categorize based on class units.

School administrators must ensure that classes and class units are properly manage to avoid any information gap in the school portal

Follow the steps below to manage secondary school portal classes and class units

  1. Navigate to http://{PORTAL-URL}/level-and-class-management  on a web browser note* replace {PORTAL-URL} with your secondary school portal URL e.g. http://sts.schoolwe.com/level-and-class-management  
  2. A class and class unit management page displays two tables, one on the left showing the school classes and the one on the right showing the class units
  3. Click ADD LEVEL/CLASS button to create and add new class/level
    1. Set the CLASS/LEVEL NAME field
    2. Select the HIERARCHY field to set the class/level in the school e.g. class/level JSS ONE will be hierarchy 1 while SS TWO will be hierarchy 5
    3. Click SAVE button to save the new school class/level
  4. Click ADD CLASS UNIT button to create and add new class unit
    1. Set the CLASS UNIT NAME field
    2. Select the SCHOOL LEVEL for which the class unit belongs to
    3. Click SAVE button to save the new school class unit  
  5. Click the DELETE button to delete either a school level/class or class unit note* that when a level/class or class unit is deleted students, teachers and school result relating to it can’t be resolved until each of these components are re-assigned to other level/class or class unit
  6. Click EDIT button to edit an existing level/class
    1. Set the LEVEL/CLASS NAME field
    2. Select the HEIRARCHY field to set the class/level in the school e.g. class/level JSS ONE will be hierarchy 1 while SS TWO will be hierarchy 5
    3. Click SAVE button to save the edited school level/class
  7. Click EDIT button to edit an existing class unit
    1. Set the CLASS UNIT NAME field
    2. Select the SCHOOL LEVEL for the class unit
    3. Click SAVE button to save the edited school class unit
  8. Click REFRESH button to refresh the records in the table
